I have a question about the ratio of the drive continuous current / motor continuous stall current. I read that a good ratio between these values is around 2, but cannot find an explanation why. I understand that when the ratio is too low, the drive cannot supply the motor needed, but what happens if the reatio is for example 5? What are the disadvanatages?

Thank you
