I want to make a CNC machine using a Dremel for the spindle and NEMA 17 motors. For the movement, I have chosen to go with the 2020 aluminum extrusion along with the wheels and other things. I was wondering whether a GT2 belt and pulley will be sufficient enough to move it accurately and without any step loss from the belt slipping. If not, can I increase the thickness of the belt or something to make it not slip? I plan on cutting cardboard, foamboard, and some softwood.
