I do have a cost map, which was computed from a few different characteristics of the terrain. How can I say, if a cost map is good mathematically? I can only look at it and see, that it has higher values at more difficult terrain and lower values at easy terrain.

Is there in general a way to evaluate something like this?

And second, related to that, how I can say, which features influence the map how much? Is there a way to do a sensitivity analysis or cross-correlation? But the problem is in the end, I can only look at it and I don't have some mathematical evaluation.

Thanks
