I'm very interested in developing software to run an autonomous drone. Preferably using the raspberry pi. There is a lot of information on the internet, much of it is outdated and is extremely overwhelming. Simply, the navio flight controller looks great, but it costs a large amount of money and I wonder if I would be better off trying the raspberry pi on its own with some peripherals like flight sensors and gps, etc. and with ardupilot. I'm not interested in racing so responsiveness is of little concern. However, from what I've seen it seems like this would be fairly troublesome to get working and I'm not able to find any comprehensive tutorials or guides for doing this.
