I need a system to determine the occupied seats in an auditorium.

  • Each seat should have separate sensor

  • Wiring on floor is accepted

  • Auditorium size is 500 seats

I would like to know about the design and layout, type of sensor, wiring sensors to micro controller

In the end the data should be collected and shown in the computer

  • $\begingroup$ Welcome to Robotics ARNOLD, but I'm afraid that Unbounded Design Questions are off-topic because there are many ways to solve any given design problem. We prefer practical, answerable questions based on actual problems that you face, so questions which ask for a list of approaches or a subjective recommendation on a method (for how to build something, how to accomplish something, what something is capable of, etc.) are off-topic. Please take a look at How to Ask & tour for more information on how stack exchange works. $\endgroup$ – Chuck Jan 12 at 17:46
  • $\begingroup$ Limit switches, pressure switches, computer vision... there's a lot of possible options. This is an open ended design problem, so it's all specific to you, your experience, budget, delivery timetable, reliability, your ability to install hardware in the venue, etc. Because it's so specific to you, questions like this invariably turn into discussions. Discussions are good, but they belong in Robotics Chat. Please join us there when you have sufficient reputation. $\endgroup$ – Chuck Jan 12 at 17:53
