# Roboclaw 2x15A Motor Controller giving a Driver Fault error

I'm trying to get a Roboclaw 2x15A Motor Controller working, I'm trying to control 2 NeveRest 60 Gear Motor for differential drive. I installed the software, connected a battery, and USB cable. I'm able to connect to the controller and set it to RC.

when I go to the PWM tab and move the M1 slider I get Error LED blinking twice and the STAT2 LED activate, which means (according to datasheet) that driver 2 is faulty. I have swapped motors to see if it follows the motors, but it doesn't. The motors work fine when connected directly to power.

Any help would be appreciated.

• what error code is indicated by two blinks? – jsotola Oct 16 at 7:04
• Error LED blinking twice. STAT1 or STAT2 indicates channel. Driver Fault Fault Motors freewheel. Damage detected. – D S Oct 16 at 15:03
• please do not just copy the line from multiple columns in the user manual .... the result makes almost no sense .... your reply should have been something like this... LED status: Error LED blinking twice, STAT1 or STAT2 indicates channel ... condition: Driver Fault ... description: Motors freewheel. Damage detected – jsotola Oct 16 at 16:14
• it appears that the controller is faulty ..... there are error codes for conditions like overcurrent, overtemperature, battery voltage issues and others ..... if none of the other errors are indicated, then the issue remaining is a bad controller .... note: are you sure that both motors are good? – jsotola Oct 16 at 16:19
